Turkey’s FM Heads to Croatia for Three Seas Summit

(MENAFN) Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan is set to visit Croatia on Tuesday to take part in the two-day 11th Three Seas Initiative (TSI) Summit in Dubrovnik, according to diplomatic sources.

The meeting is considered especially significant as it marks Türkiye’s first participation in the initiative as a “Strategic Partner,” a status it was granted following its inclusion at the Warsaw summit held on April 28–29, 2025, according to the same sources.

During the Dubrovnik summit, Fidan is expected to represent President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and deliver remarks focusing on the evolving meaning of connectivity. He is anticipated to emphasize that connectivity now extends beyond traditional infrastructure and includes transport systems, energy networks, digital platforms, financial structures, and governance mechanisms, while also noting that recent geopolitical tensions have increased its strategic relevance.

He is also expected to draw attention to the negative effects of global conflicts on economic stability and supply security, stressing the importance of diversifying both supply chains and energy routes to reduce vulnerabilities.

Fidan is further expected to present Türkiye’s view of the Three Seas Initiative as an inclusive framework that strengthens regional ownership. He is also likely to underline Ankara’s readiness, given its geopolitical position, to play a more active role as a Strategic Partner and to deepen cooperation within the initiative.
